Re: Incompetent airgunsmith + bad advice = one dead airgun.
That gives me a bit of a sick feeling and it was not even my gun. What drives me around the bend is the loyalty people have to the "air gunsmiths" that destroy their guns. They refuse to name the person and save someone or perhaps many from ending up with their guns badly damaged or ruined, like in this case. I would want to get that info out to anyone who owned one of these fine guns.
I have seen Len do some pretty amazing stuff to bring some of the hacked guns back to life, so this one must have been a real mess.
The simple fact seems to be that there is really only one guy in Canada to send these vintage or high quality guns to. Lots of folks can simply replace parts, but that does not make them a gunsmith. That may seem like an advertisement for Len, but I mean it more as good advise and a warning against trusting one of these fine air guns to someone unqualified.

I certainly hope intimidation is something that never occurs here. We do not stand for negative opinions about individuals or businesses, but pointing out a hack, with documented evidence is something that needs to be done, whether on a forum, by email or word of mouth. Just the facts is what we are looking for, the editorializing of the facts is sometimes what gets edited.
Perhaps the buyer seller feedback should be expanded to include repair. What do you think?
