Motivated Shooter

Post by Hunkaluv » Thu Jul 19, 2018 1:46 pm

Hi all,
Just thought i'd share this story. On the drive back home from Nationals last weekend, my father (who's never even picked up an FT rifle before) pestered me with questions the ENTIRE drive home. He says it was to keep me awake. The following evening, when he hears a couple of shots (after cleaning my rifle) he comes barging into my garage, wanting to see "his" rifle. (He's my next door neighbour.) So, I gave him a crash course, and set him up with my hw97. It took him about 20 minutes to figure out how the parallax wheel works, and was finally ready to take a shot. In my 10 yard garage, he did fairly ok, would have gotten a faceplate hit in HFT anyway. (Never mind that he dropped the rifle within 30 seconds of handing it to him.) Well, he's about 20 pellets in now, and i'm fairly certain that if there's a timer going he won't be completing all his shots, but he is KEEN.
So keen in fact, that he's registered for the Crosman FT Championship this weekend. (And of course he told the lady who took his info that he's my trainer and GM.)

Since i'm here, gratitude to Travis at AGS for his generous door prizes. The Benji Discovery i won will probably become my father's FT rifle, if i can figure out how to up the shot count.

It was nice to see you all, thanks for putting on a great shoot.

I hope to see you at Provincials in August!

Hi Ryan, was great meeting your Dad. Didn't he know that he shouldn't attend an air rifle match? It's a very contagious disease, but a good one I might add :D . Say hi for me and hope he does well at the Crosman. Will have a lot of fun for sure.
