Can anyone shed some light on the pros/cons of adding riser blocks between the breech and scope mounts to gain height for clearing those larger Objective scopes??? ..

TIA...

I have done it with no ill effects. My S410 carbine has a set of riser blocks, giving me just over 2" scope height from centre bore to centre of the scope. Since I shoot in the WFTF division with the lower velocity, the higher scope reduces the amount of clicking I have to do at long range. I have to do more clicking at very close range, but I am willing to make that trade off. I also find it much easier to use a mil-dot or alternate aiming point at 10 or 11 yards than I do at 50 to 55 yards.

I used the BKL risers and they are very solid.

Thanks for your feedback Tim..
Wasn't sure if I was going to find a high enough set of mounts and was looking at other options..
I was lucky enough to acquire a set of Millet mounts to fit the bill...

Cheers!
