McGuffin's new HFT rig

Post by Hunkaluv » Tue Mar 27, 2018 4:21 pm

Hi all,
I'm getting pretty amped up for HFT this season. Here's my LG110 FT dressed up in a Gary Cane stock with a 120 bar regulator. It's shooting the 10.3's at around 15.5fpe. I'm still working out some kinks with the consistency, but at least the ergonomics are spot on because of the stock. Note the Joel Goodwin comma wheel. He was great to work with, and was able to 3d print it with just a few quick measurements done on my end. It's not likely i'll ever put ranging marks on it (legal in the states) but it does make focusing a little easier. It's mounted onto a viper connect 3-12 scope. The zero eye relief is pretty enjoyable once you get used to it.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
Ryan
PS - i'm thinking of naming this rifle, i'm open to suggestions! Right now "Spensive Bitch" is my favourite.

Congrats on your new acquisition! A real head turner.

How about calling her 'Blue Streak'? Goes well with Winning Streak. :D

I like it Tony, though I may shorten it to just "Blue". That way if i'm on a winning streak I can call her "Blue Streak", but if i'm shooting poorly I can call her the "Blue Bomb".
Later!

How is that a Hunter class rifle ? It is the same rifle that the Open and WFTF shooters use .

It is more how the rifle is shot, than the actual rifle. It has the cheek piece set at one height, no adjustable knee riser, the scope is the correct power with yardages covered, no clicking of the scope was used, there is no butt hook, the power is legal and it is shot according to hunter rules.

I could shoot most of my guns in any of the three divisions, depending on how I set them up.

Yes I remember your FUDD rig .

A Pro Modified Hunter class might be a consideration . As we all know a better gun can buy a better score . It takes the fun and fair play out of hunter class for the less affluent .

I a have a couple of simple rule changes that can be implemented : 1 No side wheels allowed in Hunter.Side focus but no added side wheels.
2 No Scopes over 16 power at all in Hunter. No exceptions.
Start with that, but I'm with Peter That gun is sold NOT AS A HUNTER CLASS but as WFTF. It takes all the fun out of the class.
