First off, I'd like to say how happy I am that this section of the forum exists. I like to tinker with my toys sometimes.
I did a quick search here for an answer to my question, but nothing came up.
I'm brand new to the air-gun world, and could use a little advice...
2 weeks ago, I picked-up my first air-pistol to compliment my Diana 240 classic rifle. Just something different to shoot.
I chose a Crosman 2240, mostly for the ease of modifying it. As well as fairly positive YouTube reviews.
One of the mods I'm currently undertaking, is taking the blueing off the Co2 action tube & barrel. Having fun with it.
Took the blueing off with vinegar, then polished it up last night with toothpaste & steel wool, to a really nice shine.
So, what are some recommended methods of protecting the bare metal now?
I was thinking it would be great to use something household, like I did with the (gritty) toothpaste for polishing.
Would some Turtle Wax do the job?
Anyone with a little experience at de-blueing, would be a pleasure to hear from.
