That is kind of frightening, the reservoir issues you found...

When costs are cut quality suffers, it is really sad that any airgun maker would let a product leave the shop that could potentially kill or seriously injure a customer. :evil:

Excellent findings!!!! My rifle, a Hammerli Pneuma aka Hatsan AT44 had trouble filling from empty too.

I stripped the rifle completely apart to perform a total rebuild. Confirmed the exact issues Leonardj found with the pistol. Looks like the threading on the valve body is sharp and very loose fitting to the reservoir is normal to all Hatsan guns/rifles from factory.

Just wonder how may incidents that go unreported, could be a big liability and potential lawsuit from poor manufacturing.

It is a very good, accurate rifle and I enjoyed shooting it. I have a Mechanical Engineering background and this looks very scary, now that I took the rifle apart and see how it is put together.
