April 10, 2016 Rifle FT Match

Post by Mac » Sat Apr 02, 2016 10:49 am

The plan is have a 48 shot match on six lanes containing four (4) targets per lane. Scoring will be the same as outdoor rifle matches. We have to be cleaned up and off the range by 2:00 PM.

The doors will open at 9:00 AM for sight-in and the match will begin sat 9:30 AM.

All classes will be offered, but at least two shooters are needed in a CAFTA class in order to have an award.

Open Division: PCP and Piston classes (20 ft/lb max)
Hunter Division: PCP and Piston (20 ft/lb max)
WFTF Division: PCP and Piston classes (12 ft/lb max)
Junior Hunter Class if we have some juniors (20 ft/lb max)

Please let me know as soon as you can, or at the latest, the Wednesday morning before the match, if you will be attending. Please include what division and class you will be shooting in. Responding by email is the best for me.

Thanks.
Hope to see a good number of shooter at this one and the last of the indoor season on May 10th.

We are up to 13 shooters.

7- Open PCP
4 - Hunter PCP
2 - Hunter Spring

I am shooting the Steyr in Open this time as there are no other WFTF shooters. On the indoor range with no wind, the playing field is fairly level between the 12 and 20 ft/lb guns.

Will be ordering awards tomorrow AM, so I hope a few more chime in by then.

I'm still undecided as to which shooter to bring.. There's an AAS510 that has yet to see the light of day and Sunday may just be the day it comes out...
Should be fun! .. see you fellows there..

Had a few get word to me after I had already ordered the medals, so classes have been put together.

We have seven shooters in the Open PCP class and six shooters in a combined Hunter Class, with four PCP guys and two shooting Spring guns.

* Set up lanes for the match ** Shoot-off

The shoot-off between Mike and Larry was awesome. After 7 or 8 hits by each, Larry won it by knocking down a target that was rated at 93.3 on the Troyer difficulty scale. You will never see a match target even close to that. Congratulations to both shooters for some remarkable shooting under pressure. A .375" zone at 35 yards was the winning shot! Heck, the one they both made before the last shot was a 72T that would have won most shoot-offs.
