December 9th PFT Match

Post by Mac » Wed Nov 21, 2012 11:10 am

On Sunday, December 9th at 9:00 AM, there will be a pistol Field Target Match at Range Burlington.

It will be a 48 shot match shot over two rounds of a 24 shot course. The targets are moved after the first round to create a different course. Targets are set fro 10 to 25 yards and no kill-zone is smaller than 1.5".

We hope to see a good turnout at our first match of the 2012-2013 winter indoor season.

Frank, I have not heard of anyone from your area making the trip, but will certainly let you know if that happens.

Shooting Positions
A) Freestyle, the pistol must be held in at least one hand and be supported only by
the arms or body. The pistol may not be supported in any way from the ground.

At Burlington all shots are free. You can rest it on your knee, over your arm, etc.

Many shoot similar to rifle ft and just rest the gun on their arm which is supported by the front knee.

Targets will be all set up, ready to go.

We have a separate class for red dot, so I would say leave your gun as is.

We shoot three classes

Iron sights
unmagnified optics (usually red dot)
Scopes up to 12X
