Burlington Pistol FT Sunday March 5th

Post by pirellip » Thu Feb 23, 2017 6:41 pm

The 3nd (and final) Pistol FT match will be on Sunday, March 5th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (end time tentative)

For sight-in time, be there between 9:00 and 9:30 so you will have time to take some shots at the paper targets. No shots should be taken at the field targets set out for the match during the sight-in time.

It will be a 48 shot match, shot in two parts, consisting of 24 shots each with a break between. Tentatively, we will be finished and out by 2:00 PM.

The classes are as follows:
A) Iron Sights - Sights will be limited to open sights.
B) Non-magnified Optic Sights - Limited to non-magnification red dot, non-magnification cross-hair designs and peep or dioptre sights with a sight radius not to exceed twenty-four inches (24”).
C) Scope -Scopes will be limited to 12 times zoom power. There will be no limits to reticle design.

Directions to the club can be found using this Google maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/wWn4WKWaDpA2

Please reply to this via PM BEFORE Wednesday, March 2nd to let me know if you will be attending and please remember to include the class you will be competing in. Awards are ordered on Wednesday.

If you can't commit by Wednesday, you're still welcome to attend (a walk-in), but you may not receive an award, even if you win!

Thanks All,
John, Don & Tom

This match happened!

I've asked the match director for these results, and the results from the first 2 PFT matches. I'll post them as soon as I get them.

Thanks for the pics George and to Tom for posting them. I guess it did happen.

I miss getting together with all of you and Angie and I are planning a trip that way for the May 6th and 7th weekend. How fortunate that there is a rifle match that weekend; what a coincidence. ;)

Pistol Field Target Results
Mar. 5, 2017

Once again, sorry for my tardiness. Unlike the weather forecast for the Sunday, we had a very nice semi-warm day to welcome us. The temperature was still like mid-February in the range but the heat helped take off the edge. We had been anticipating a similar turnout as last month but there must have been some pressing “Honey-Do’s” that had to be fulfilled. We had a relaxing pace and finished with a tough shoot-off between Joel and Dennis for first in Scoped. We cut right to the chase and moved a small target out to 25 yards were Joel knocked the target down on the first try. We tried to hook up at a local specialty burger place but the festival (unknown to us) had taken over the downtown core and a few of us had to pass. We can try again next match.

Great match!!! Glad to see everyone and had a great time :!:

It still makes me chuckle when I look at the guns used and see; Steyr, Anschutz, AA, Walther, Tau and then Crosman 1377

To that point, I have been looking into helping my brother build up a 1377 as I did a few years ago, but prices have gone up quite a bit. To replicate my older build today will cost about $600-700 by the time you have everything shipped to you...I said buy a TX instead  :D
