Dave's Winter Fun Day III

Post by Mac » Sun Mar 18, 2018 8:19 pm

Now that was a winter shooting day. The temperature was -12C (10 F) when we set up and warmed right up to -7C (19 F) by the time we were done. The sun was in and out, but of course by the time we were done, it was shining beautifully. There was nice crisp snow and very little wind in the cedars; a couple of the long ones were tricky.

We set up nine lanes with three targets per lane, resulting in a 54 shot course. We had some nasty little hit zones this time and a few targets well out there. As usual, the guns performed better than the operators, but it was tougher this time. With the hard snow, the bumbag and your feet were trying to slide most of the time so muscles that are normally relaxed had to do some work today. Just added to the fun and challenge.

There were five of us this time since Jeff was unable to attend, unfortunately. A big thank you to Dave and his wife, Mary, for these great days of getting together and shooting. It shortened the winter for me, that's for sure.

Looking forward to seeing John's pictures that are always awesome and enjoyed by all, I am sure.

That's a true winter shoot! It was 8C at my house, crazy what a few hours east can do!

Speed is fine but accuracy is final. You must learn to slow down in a hurry.
